Houston Museum of Natural Science

The Houston Museum of Natural Science includes a constant rotation of temporary and permanent exhibits like the Cabinet of Curiosities and the Morian Hall of Paleontology. The museum is also home to an IMAX theatre, observatory, and a planetarium that boasts its own popular exhibits like Black Holes and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.

Hamilton Pool

Located in Travis County Park in the outskirts of Austin, Hamilton Pool’s defining feature is its breathtaking 50-foot waterfall that even TLC would agree is worth chasing. Speaking of which, reservations are required and fill up fast, so make sure to snag your reservations in advance!

Texas Coast & Beaches

Corpus Christi, Port Aransas Beach & the surrounding beaches along the Texas coastline don’t always get the credit they deserve. You can try windsurfing in Corpus Christi or attend a local concert or beach yoga class in Port Aransas. Traveling by RV? Magnolia Beach is an RV-friendly spot perfect for playing with your pup or enjoying the sunset (or sunrise!) after a long nursing shift.

San Antonio Riverwalk

Stroll down San Antonio’s Riverwalk for endless restaurants, shops, and live events throughout the year. You can also kayak your way down the Riverwalk if you happen to land a nursing assignment near San Antonio between March and September.

Yorktown Memorial Hospital

Ready for a “travel nursing assignment” like no other? Located about 1 hour away from San Antonio, Yorktown Memorial Hospital is believed to be haunted by the 2,000 souls that lived and died there. Perot Science Museum

The Perot Science Museum is a massive 6-story museum in the heart of downtown Dallas. Each of the museum’s six floors is dedicated to a different branch of science (astronomy, human anatomy, and geology to name just a few) that offers a wide variety of interactive exhibits guaranteed to pique anyone’s curiosity. The uniquely modern architecture and design make the Perot Museum building a scientific wonder all on its own. For all the Chip + Joanna Gaines fans out there, Magnolia Market & Shops in Waco need no introduction.
